Thursday/Friday Action

All right folks nice win with the Bears to get above the .500 mark. Thursday we will be on the Texas A&M Aggies +3 and Friday Utah State +4.5 I'd suggest locking these in now as I think the lines will only get smaller. Will be back for the weekend

Thursday- Texas A&M +3
Friday- Utah State +4.5

MNF

Alright for tonight we will be rolling with Chicago. As much as I hate to say it, Jay Cutler is looking much better under the direction of Mike Martz (he's still an asshole, and his arm is still not as good as John Elway's, yes he said that) and he is showing some maturity and ability to win games. Bears D looks pretty solid and the loss of Ryan Grant won't help the Packers. In this big division rivalry I'll take my chances on the home dog that's showing some promise this season.

All right folks, 4-2 day, our two losers gave really lame efforts but we'll always take a positive day. Sitting at five hundred right now. Will be back tomorrow.

All right folks not a good day for us, Bama showed their potential late and the comeback was a testament to their character as a team but unfortunately could not cover the number for us. Three NFL plays today...we will get it moving in the right direction soon.

All right folks picked up a nice win on the under Thursday night. Saturday's card is honestly not very appealing to me so I'm going to keep it simple and hope for the best.

Thursday NCAAF

All right folks this Thursday night game presents a rather interesting and somewhat unpredictable scenario. As you may know, Randy Shannon first played for Wanstedt at Miami, then coached under him before he became a head coach. Needless to say, Wanstedt knows Shannon, and Shannon knows Wanstedt. I think this benefits each team more defensively. Also, Pittsburgh has a freshman QB and teams have just been stacking the box to stop Lewis and I think we can expect to see that again tonight. Shannon ripped Miami after last weeks turnover-ridden loss to Ohio State. I would be surprised to see anything but a Miami win tonight, but I think the safer play is the Under. BOL everyone.

Update

All right folks nice win last night on the Niners. Would have loved to see them pull off the upset but the cover is more than sufficient for me. Off to a bit of a slow start, but we will get this moving in the right direction. Be back later in the week.

Monday NFL

Just a horrendous day from start to finish yesterday. No excuses just have to move forward. Started a little slow last season and finished just fine. We know the public absolutely mopped up on the Colts last night, and I think Vegas gets it back tonight with a San Fran cover. Think we see San Fran generate some defensive turnovers and use the ground game enough to cover the number.

Forty Niners +5

All right folks nice win last night on Nevada as their offensive prowess was too much for Cal as expected. Moving on to today's card I have a handful of games I like. Unusually big card for me but I'm rolling with it...

Iowa State +4
Temple +6
Vandy +12
Colorado -12.5
Minnesota +11
Washington +3
Miss State +7.5
Texas Tech +3
Arizona -1.5

Friday NCAAF

Nice relatively easy win last night on NC State. On to tonight I will be rolling with Nevada against Cal. I don't think people quite realize that Nevada is a very respectable, seasoned team with a high-powered offense led by Colin Kaepernick. Nice chance for the Wolfpack to gain some credibility here, and I think they get it done tonight. Don't quite understand all the love for Southern Miss so I'll be laying off that game, though Kansas did knock off G Tech last week as two touchdown dogs and this may be a letdown spot for them.

Nevada +2.5

Thursday NCAAF

Tough loss Monday night with the Jets losing with an incredible defensive performance and lackluster offensive effort. Jets just can not win it all with Sanchez at QB this year he can talk about how 15-1 would be fine all he wants it's just not happening despite the quality of their D...On to tonight rolling with N.C. State who opened up as a 1 point home pup and the line quickly jumped across zero to -2.5. N.C. State not a fantastic football team but I think they do enough at home on ESPN Thursday Night game to win and cover. The public perception of Cincy is way off in this one as their coach Brian Kelly is now at Notre Dame, Tony Pike is gone (though Collaros is solid as I have stated before), and Mardy Gilyard is also gone. I think we see a hard fought, sloppy game tonight with N.C. State emerging the victor. Best of Luck.

NC State -2.5

MNF

All right folks going to tread lightly early in the season especially the NFL season. Like the college card this weekend but for now let's try to win some coin on MNF. I'll be taking the New York Jets tonight. Everybody and their brother is on the Ravens here and the line has been bet all the way down from 3 to a pick, but I think as long as Sanchez does not ruin in with picks, the Jets have a great defense, a solid run game and a coach that knows the Baltimore system.

Jets Pick

Saturday NCAAF

All right folks slow start to the season. I like today's card quite a bit so let's hope we can get into the positive. Rolling with:

South Florida +16 Florida is still a very talented team but we saw them have a lot of trouble even getting a clean snap last week I'm sure they will have improved upon yet but I think people are mistakenly expecting Tebow's Florida to take the field, and this is not Tebow's Florida.

Airforce -2 BYU coming off a nice win against Washington in Week One, good spot for them to let down against a tough Airforce team.

Alabama -12 Penn State is a good football team but the problem is they like to play the same style of football as Bama and simply put, you can't beat Bama at their own game. PSU has a nice running back in Royster but a freshman at QB and you really just don't run on Bama. Add to that the fact that Bama has McElroy back and while Ingram is out I am fully confident in Richardson and Lacy can hold his own too. Bama way too deep too physical for PSU to hang for four quarters.

Alabama/PSU Under 44 Don't see much scoring out of PSU with a freshman QB and Bama's excellent run defense. I'm sure they will try to shorten the game and play ball control to keep it close but I can't see them scoring more than 14 honestly.

Vandy +10 Great win for LSU in Week One, another let down spot. Vandy is far from the class of the SEC but they have a decent program and with LSU's sometimes stagnant offense, I like the Commodores to keep a game here.

Tennessee +11 Yes Oregon hung 72 or whatever it was on whatever high school program they played last week but the Vols are a tough SEC team and the game is in Knoxville. Tennessee with some important losses (Berry, Williams) but I think a program like Tennessee can fill the gaps enough to keep a competitive game with Oregon.

Best of luck everyone.

NCAAF Saturday

All right folks dropped our baseball game last night, got a bunch of runs up early and then stalled out. Kawakami was sufficiently bad, but Miller showed some promise and the braves bats were silent. On to today, got a nice card for the College games:

Florida -38 Probably 2nd best team in the country vs. MAC opponent
Texas -31 Should be a thrashing, Gilbert is green but can't see Rice scoring much.
Conn/Michigan Under 53 Tempted to take UConn here, but 53 in a UConn game is high.
Kansas State -2 K-State has a nice program, UCLA nice D but not much offense.
LSU -8 Tons of UNC suspensions, not so long ago that LSU was national champ.
Fresno -2 Everybody loves Cincy, but they lost their coach Brian Kelly, their stud QB in Pike (Collaros is a decent replacement, tho) and Mardy Gilyard who will be catching passes on Sundays. Fresno's not bad and Cincy loses to much.

Friday 9/3/2010

All right folks 1-1-1 yesterday. Stupid to take a mid-level conference against the class of college football, that is, the SEC. Otherwise nice win on the Cyclones and a near victory with Pitt, but they played sloppy so we'll take a push. Nothing in college foots tonight but will definitely be back tomorrow with plays, and for my fellow action junkies...

Atlanta Braves/Florida Marlins Over 9.5
Two terrible pitchers, neither of whom should or would be starting if not for injuries.

Thursday NCAAF Picks

All right folks, words can not describe how excited I am at the return of College football. Before I get into the picks, just a quick word of advice on money management. I suggest to anyone who plans to bet the picks for the season that they establish a bankroll and bet 5% of the original bankroll per game. Now on to the picks...

Southern Miss +14
Iowa State -4 (Posted this at 5 originally but it is readily available at 4)
Pitt +3

Let's get off to a good start. Best of luck fellow degenerates.

2010-2011 Football Season

OK folks we are just about ready to get the blog up and running again with football season getting under way. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that the picks will be coming very shortly. I hope to make this season at least as profitable as the last and hope you folks can make some nice coin with the picks. Best of luck to all, and I will see you back here soon.
